Welcome to Surviving Cascadia!! You will find no sales, services, subscriptions, or membership fees on this site. My name is Bridget Good. I have been a City of Salem Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteer for over seven years. Living in the Pacific Northwest, you can’t be a CERT member and not prepare for a Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake and tsunami. Luckily, preparing for hazards that large ensures you are better prepared for a multitude of other hazards in the area.
When I started researching the CSZ, some information on the topic was a simple Google search away. Yet finding answers to other questions I had, took digging, analyzing, and a lot of help understanding the information from the experts. I’ve asked A LOT of annoying questions and created Surviving Cascadia as a way to share what I’ve learned in an attempt to make some of that harder-to-find info a simple Google search away for you.
I do my best to ensure the information on this website is verifiable, reproducible, transparent, and accurate. New information will be added as I (and the scientific community) continue to learn, so come back to visit! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any thoughts, questions, or edit suggestions!
